ABOUT
I'm an illustrator, designer, and journeyman tattooist based in the Pacific Northwest and Brooklyn. I strive to create striking images both simple and complex, with the intention of positively affecting and influencing my environment while simultaneously drawing inspiration from it.
My work is in part a product of my upbringing on an island in rural Washington State, and the travels I've made, both inward and outward. My grandfather James Cole was a maritime architect and always encouraged my curiosity and creativity in ways that helped shape me into the artist I have become.
I believe that humans from all walks of life are, first and foremost, artists. We have been dreamers from the beginning, and we have always attempted to depict our dreams and our world through whichever media were accessible at any given point in our history. It is important to me to pay respect and homage to my artist ancestors, which is a major influence on the body of work I am creating.
